Slavonski Brod – JANAF Plc. and Đuro Đaković Holding Plc. signed today, 2 July 2011, the contract on construction of three new storage tanks (A1514, A1516 and A1518) at the Omišalj Terminal. The contract signing ceremony was held in the premises of Đuro Đaković Holding in Slavonski Brod. The works at the Omišalj Terminal started back on 21 February 2011 when Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor opened the first phase of the works. Prime Minister Kosor also attended today’s ceremony of signing the contract with the contractor Đuro Đaković Holding.

Signing the contract worth around 218 million kunas (HRK) marked the beginning of a new phase within the JANAF greatest investment project of upgrading/reconstructing the storage tank farm at the Omišalj Terminal. The project involves the construction of 8 (eight) new crude oil storage tanks in total, with capacity of 80.000 m3 each (640.000 m3 in total), as well as the oil products storage tanks having the total capacity of up to 100.000 m3. All works at the Omišalj Terminal are expected to be completed by the year 2015. Newly built storage tanks will be used for storing the national compulsory stocks, as well as for the commercial purposes.

Today’s ceremony at Slavonski Brod was also an occasion for signing a letter of intent on establishment of a company for freight wagons lease between HŽ (Croatian Railways) Holding Ltd. and Đuro Đaković Holding Plc., as well as for a takeover ceremony of first 30 wagons for bulk cargo transport and 7 self-discharging wagons for stone transport.
