Zagreb – JANAF Plc. hosted the international working meeting of CONCAWE – OPMG in Zagreb on 22 and 23 October 2008.
Continuing with its activities within the international professional framework, last year JANAF Plc. joined CONCAWE – the oil companies’ European association for environment, health and safety in refining and distribution (CONCAWE=CONservation of Clean Air and Water in Europe).
CONCAWE as association was established back in 1963 by a small group of oil companies, which nowadays includes a majority of European oil companies.
OPMG is an abbreviation of Oil Pipeline Management Group, representing the most significant European professional forum for an exchange of experiences by and between the representatives of oil pipeline systems. This two-day meeting hosted by JANAF Plc. was an opportunity for this Croatian company being the operator of the oil pipeline system to present its oil pipeline, as well as all activities conducted on daily basis in order to maintain and safeguard the integrity of the entire oil pipeline system. At the same time, this meeting also provided the opportunity for practical mutual exchange of knowledge, experiences and the best practice in the field of the activities pursued by all OPMG members. Therefore, JANAF Plc. organized for its guests a visit to the Omišalj Terminal, being the largest of JANAF’s terminals.
The mission of this association is to gather and to develop the relevant scientific, technical, economic and legal information related to the environmental protection, health and safety in refining and distribution of crude oil and oil products. This mission has been also implemented by JANAF Plc. in its business operation, which can be seen from its continuously keeping up to date with modern technology and knowledge related to the maintenance and safeguard of the oil pipeline system under its operation and management.
